6 days off=Happiness

We all need a break!

It's been sooooo long since I've had one.

Thank you Universe!

What will I do with myself?

All those things I always want to do, but then work usually gets in the way...that's what.

Here's some ideas:

Hang out at Malaprop's, drink coffee, blog, and look cool.

Create, create, create!

Stay up late, eat junk food, and watch horror movies.

Harvest the garden.

Catch up with friends.

Relax with my boyfriend.

Wander around aimlessly.

Oracle of the Week~Faery~The Faun

The Faun

Understanding the nature of Nature.
Natural wisdom. Natural magic.

From the Faeries' Oracle by Brian Froud, text by Jessica MacBeth

The Faun sings, "Come dance with me!"
He frolics in the woods, plays in the meadow,
and dances in the garden.

He teaches us to understand, appreciate,
and express the part of ourselves that
dances in the moonlight with the faeries,
sings to the dawn stars with the birds,
and hums with the blossoming flowers.

This is also the part of us that plants seeds with a loving pat that says, " Bless you and grow,"
and provides healing energy for doing just that.

No fuss, no bother,
just intention and natural human magic.

Natural magic is simple.

We are all full of it-and the more
we are true to our own nature,
the more we have access to our own magic.

Spending time in our gardens, our parks, our forests,
and open spaces helps us to reconnect,
but so does growing herbs and flowers
and scented geraniums in pots on our windowsills.

So does looking at the stars, observing the state of the sky,
and listening to the wind.

It helps if we simple observe the natural processes
and changes around us.

Life is about process, not stasis.

We constantly change.

It is futile to struggle against the flow of the universe,
so we may as well dance with him.

The Faun says, "Dance with me, and it will all come right!"

And, do you know?

He's right.

Reading:
Natural magic is happening.

When things flow almost effortlessly,
that is a sign that natural magic is at work.

Enjoy it!

A very important part of natural magic is
simply allowing the energy to flow through us.

This means both giving and receiving freely.

Let the energy flow-don't push it,
don't try to control it, just dance with it.

Trust it.

And remember to
keep returning to the source for inspiration
and to keep your heart filled with light.
*************************************
Sounds like the perfect reading for my vacation this week!

I hope to be spending time in my garden
and taking in all kinds of nature.

I shall be dancing with the Faun.

New Crafts~Waves of Inspirations

So...I started venturing into the world of mixed media art.
What I've been doing is very similar to my cigar box purses,
but on canvas.

I've been pulling ideas and experimenting with techniques from Kelly Rae Roberts book, "Taking Flight, Inspiration & Techniques to Give Your Creative Spirit Wings".

I'm really enjoying
painting the backgrounds.

There is so much you can do with just paint, a spray bottle full of water, and paper towels!

I never knew.

So here is my first go at this new exploration for me.

I'm calling these "Waves of Inspiration".

I will be selling them at
the Paris of the South Flea Market tomorrow.

Faery Oracle~The Faery Who Was Kissed By The Pixies

The Faery Who Was Kissed By The Pixies

From The Faeries Oracle by Brian Froud.
Words by Jessica Macbeth.

Love given. Love received.
Metaphorical open-heart surgery.

********************************
I chose The Faery Who Was Kissed By The Pixies
back on October 29, 2011...
and here it is again.

I seem to understand what this card represents
on a deeper level now.

This faery, Morna, is the Queen of Love.
Her role is a heart surgeon.
She uses the power of love to help us open our hearts
when we have closed them out of fear,
helping us to expand and
become more of what we have the potential to be.

Morna reminds us that it is important for us not to lose ourselves in others and let their desires become ours while losing sight of what we need for fulfillment in our own lives.

We are all learning about love, and in the process of learning, we all act as teachers for each other.

Ram Dass said,
 "The karma of relationships is
the hardest karma there is."

"Believe it!" Morna advises.

This is true no matter what the relationship is.

But for all that, love in the purest sense is the
fast track to self-realization and enlightenment.

                  ********************************
Reading:

Love, sweet love!
Accept it, burnish it up, add to it, and pass it on!

This card is all about love, and all types of love...
it encompasses all types of love and committed relationships.

The Faery Who Was Kissed by the Pixies is
pure, unconditional love.

This is a time to open and heal your heart.

Open your heart.

Fill yourself with love.

Know that you are safe in doing so.

Remember, everything and everyone
in Faery glows with its own light.
 So do we.
Much of that light is the glow of love.
Remembering that is important.

Oracle of the Week~Goddess~Sulis

Sulis

Illness/Wellness

By Amy Sophia Marashinsky
Illustrated by Hrana Janto

It is all one

being ill

being well

It is all energy

energy in constant motion

energy in constant flux

restless energy that is never still

ruthless energy that acts like a steam roller

boundless energy that brings possibilities

sparkling energy that tickles and sings

stored energy that waits for release

The healing waters at my shrine

regenerated

revitalized

brought clarity

mended holes

opened vision

allowed flow

With energy flowing

the dance of life resumes

illness and wellness

all one

all energy

all flow
****************************************
Sulis has come to tell you that it is time to
embrace the dance of illness/wellness.

Make time for yourself and nourish the energy you have.

It is time to let go of everything and make you a priority.

It is time to ask for what you need and let it in.

Give yourself permission to seek support
and assistance for your healing process.

Illness is our body's call for time off,
time out, or just plain time.

Illness is a way for us to come face-to-face with
what is no longer working for us and change it.

Have you been ignoring your own
deep requests for more time, more space, more attention?

You need to put everything aside that doesn't
nourish and support your healing.

The way to wholeness for you now lies in recognizing
your own needs and putting them first,
nourishing your energy,
and allowing new ways of being with yourself
that support health and vitality.

Friday Message

Today I would like to share a message I received
from ULC Seminary.

You are capable of creating anything you want.

You are a being of great ability.

When you put your wish out into the universe,
you always get what you want.

Wish big.

Dream big.

And let your love expand into the universe.
You have a lot to give.

Oracle of the Week~The Silver Branch~Gruagach

Gruagach

Elemental Power ~ Work ~ Attention to Detail

From The Silver Branch Cards
by Nicholas R. Mann

The Grugach is a giant hairy man from Scotland.
He is the wild man of the woods.

The giant has one eye and one leg with
a shaggy terrifying appearance.

The Gruagach are all elemental beings attached to
a specific place in nature.

They are all for helping you out, as long as you don't offend them.

They love offerings such as milk, honey, and grain...
but never offer them anything
that would bind them, like clothes.

There are many legends of a time when a harmony existed
on the earth between all things,
and the powers of nature were present
in the form of gigantic beings.

These beings would help in human affairs
but were somewhat capricious.

They needed to be understood if what they did
was to do no harm.

The appearance of the Gruagach signifies that the indwelling powers of nature can be extremely useful to you
if you align yourself to them.

This requires some forethought and attention.

If you are doing anything involving landscape...
a new home, a new garden, planting a tree...etc...
You need to align yourself with the powers
of that specific land.

Think about the forces of nature on this property.
Will what you are doing withstand possible floods, intense heat, blistering cold, high winds, and any other force of nature?

If you align yourself with nature, she will work with you.

In fact, the capacity of all living things to
provide and give to you is endless.

The generosity of the land is an example to us all.
